I live in the small, semi-rural town of Val Verde, California, in LA County and got started with environmental justice advocacy and waste issues after a nearby landfill began the scoping process for an expansion, rather than close the facility, as promised.

I am working on a project to map Southern California's waste stream. Public Lab is an incredible community of people working together to solve pressing environmental issues and contribute to the body of knowledge here.
